Walk Like an Egyptian

Motto, 2017

Walk Like an Egyptian is a softcover book with four nested dust jackets. The interior pages contain dozens of black and white images from inside a museum in Cairo, Egypt. The ancient and time – weathered artifacts contrasts comically with the recognizable accoutrements of a tourist – frequented museum: standing fans, restroom signage, and waste bins. At the end of the book is text written by Olaf Nicolai that reflects upon hotel bars, sarcophagi, and the similarities between archaeology and espionage. Subtly funny, Walk Like an Egyptian is a photographic experience as well as a sociological reflection.
